Have you ever wondered if your personality influences your level of job satisfaction? A group of nearly 400 Registered Dietitians in North Carolina completed surveys for their personality characteristics and levels of job satisfaction. The personality survey utilized the Big 5, or Five-Factor model of personality. The Big 5 personality characteristics are Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. Job satisfaction looked at overall levels of job satisfaction. In this group of respondents, agreeableness was positively related to job satisfaction, while neuroticism was negatively related to job satisfaction.
