Dr. Thompson is an Assistant Professor of Nutrition with a research focus on evaluating organizational capabilities of food pantries across linkages with nutrition and health-related services for clients; with industries and community-based initiatives for training individuals for sustainable, living wage positions and to develop statewide resource maps describing health/employment/food pantry linkages. In addition, she is working on developing a Food Pantry Capability Scorecard for use by food banks in optimizing services to communities and enhancing the capabilities of constituent food pantries. Her recent publication on this topic was highlighted in the Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems and Community Development in July 2019.
